Personal Biography
Michael R. Wexler, M.D. is board certified in both allergy/immunology and pediatrics. Dr. Wexler specializes in the field of allergy, asthma, and immunology. Dr. Wexler attended the University of Minnesota Medical School where he also completed both his pediatric residency and allergy/immunology fellowship programs at university hospitals. Dr. Wexler is a clinical assistant professor at the medical school. Wexler's areas of interest include asthma, allergic rhinitis, eczema, hives, food allergies, and recurrent infections. Dr. Wexler and the team of allergists at Minnetonka-based Advancements in Allergy and Asthma Care, Ltd. offers an established, high quality, and effective Food Allergy Risk Management (FARM) program to help children and their families be more proactive with their food allergies. The group's FARM program addresses several categories of food allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, milk and wheat. Each FARM patient receives a tailored program that will allow the child to eat allergenic foods. Initially, the patient will safely tolerate trace amounts of such foods, while eventually building tolerance to a level that allows them to enjoy the food. Dr. Wexler is highly regarded in his specialty and has been honored to be named in Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine's annual Top Doctors for nearly two decades. Dr. Wexler resides in the Twin Cities area with his wife and they have three grown children, one who is a Pediatric Sleep Specialist at Children's Hospital in the Twin Cities.
