Personal Biography

Ann Marie Nie is a Family Nurse Practitioner on the Wound Ostomy Care team at Children's Minnesota. She spent 9 and a half years at Cincinnati Children's Hospital where she was integral in the development of the wound care program and developing a bundle to decrease pediatric pressure ulcers. Upon leaving Cincinnati Children's Hospital she spent 3 years treating wound and ostomy patients on adults in acute care, long-term care, long-term acute care and outpatient settings. Her areas of interest are preventing pressure ulcers in adults and pediatrics and healing wounds of all types. She is published in the area of pressure ulcer prevention in pediatrics and has spoken nationally and internationally on the subject. She is currently working on revising the Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers: Clinical Practice Guideline that was published in 2014 by the EPUAP, NPUAP and the Pan Pacific PI Alliance. She is the chair of the small working group on Neonatal and Children PI prevention guidelines. Ann Marie is published in several journals related to pediatric pressure injury development and prevention. She is currently working towards her Nursing PhD and is a PhD Candidate.
