Personal Biography

Beth Brandenburg, MD, is the Associate Medical Director for the Center for the Treatment of Eating Disorders. Dr. Brandenburg developed an interest in eating disorders as a medical student at the University of Iowa and fostered that interest with research and clinical work as a psychiatry resident at the University of Minnesota. She is passionate about providing evidence-based treatments for eating disorders. She has had extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Enhanced for Eating Disorders by Dr. Chris Fairburn and in Family Based Therapy by Dr. James Lock. She has also been trained in interpersonal therapy and cognitive remediation therapy. She enjoys teaching medical students and residents about the complexities of working with patients with eating disorders. An area of special interest is treating eating disorders in athletes. She is an avid runner and also enjoys traveling, skiing, and boating.
