Personal Biography

Dr. Durrani-Kolarik is committed to baby-friendly standards and breastmilk nutrition. Breastfeeding an infant who has been admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), can be challenging. Dr. Durrani-Kolarik is dedicated to overcoming any obstacles to provide the benefits that come along with breastfeeding for both the infant and mother. As a resident at The Oklahoma University Children?s Hospital, Dr. Durrani-Kolarik was recognized with the `Most Outstanding Graduating Resident? award by the Neonatology Division. She returned this honor, by becoming an active leader for residency teaching during her fellowship at Nationwide Children?s Hospital/The Ohio State University. Dr. Durrani-Kolarik has been involved in international medical care and teaching. She volunteered as a Neonatology consultant in Georgetown, Guyana to help guide medical management in the NICU, as well as provide daily lectures to the resident physicians. She also taught at the MEDSIM conference in Nottingham, United Kingdom, which was geared towards Pre-Med students. Dr. Durrani-Kolarik has also presented her fellowship research project in Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia at several conferences across the country and in Canada. Dr. Durrani-Kolarik is originally from the Detroit, Michigan area. She resides with her husband two daughters and two dogs.
