Blackbaud is a vendor that provides Children’s Minnesota Foundation with cloud-based and data solution services related to our donors and fundraising. In July, Blackbaud informed us it had discovered that an unauthorized individual had gained access to Blackbaud’s systems, which impacted many of their customers as well as Children’s Minnesota Foundation.
Blackbaud advised us that the unauthorized individual may have acquired a backup of the database that manages our donor information. We immediately took steps to understand the extent of the incident and the data involved.
The incident impacted limited donor information including name, address, date of birth and philanthropic history. Please note that Social Security numbers are not part of the information the Foundation shares with Blackbaud and were not involved in the incident. Also, financial account and credit card information were not contained in the affected Blackbaud database.
