Courtney Horngren, radiologic technologist in our radiology department, has been working at Children’s Minnesota for five years now. She is sharing all her favorite things about working at Children’s Minnesota below.
What is your position and how long have you been at Children’s Minnesota?
“I’m a radiologic technologist and I’ve been working at Children’s Minnesota for five years.”
Tell us why you like your job and position.
“I love the challenge that comes along with working in pediatrics. There is so much more to my job than just taking the actual x-ray images. Kids want things explained to them in a way that they can understand, and I love being able to take the time to help them feel comfortable. I enjoy that each patient that enters my room is in a unique situation and requires something different than the patient before them.”
What do you like about working in this field/department?
“My field of work allows me to merge two things that I love, being creative and helping people.”
Why do you like working at Children’s Minnesota?
“I love working at Children’s Minnesota because I get to interact with the kids, but also get to help ease the parent or caregiver’s mind as well. As a mother myself, I know firsthand how scary it can feel when my child is sick, and I love being able to help the parents navigate their feelings and concerns.”
