First responders choose to spend their lives saving others. We mourn the three heroes recently shot and killed in Burnsville, grieve with their families, and honor their service.
Police Officers Paul Elmstrand and Matthew Ruge, and Firefighter Adam Finseth, lost their lives on Sunday while selflessly working to keep others safe. Our community is now without three people who cannot be replaced. But we will remember them and their commitment to those around them.
Finally, we hurt for the children. Those who lost their fathers. And those Elmstrand, Ruge and Finseth were trying to protect; seven siblings caught up in another terrifying episode of gun violence.
