Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia

Overview

Children’s Minnesota is recognized as a primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD) center to care for children with PCD and is part of the PCD Foundation’s clinical and research center network – one of seven pediatric programs in the country and the only one in our region.

Diagnosis of primary ciliary dyskinesia in children requires a thorough evaluation and treatment is often overseen by a lung doctor. Our program combines the collaborative efforts of pediatric pulmonologists, pediatric otolaryngologists (ENT), geneticists, cardiologists, neonatologists, respiratory therapists, pulmonary technologists, pathologists and many support staff members.
