Dr. Mark Hudson recognized by the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Care

Since 1999, the Schwartz Center for Compassionate Care honors medical professionals who are devoted to providing compassionate health care for patients and families. Children’s is proud to congratulate Dr. Mark Hudson, medical director of the Midwest Children’s Resource Center as a 2018 National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year (NCCY) award nominee and Honorable Mention recipient.

As part of the nomination process, Dr. Hudson’s colleagues were asked to describe what made him a compassionate caregiver. They wrote: We are incredibly fortunate to work with Dr. Mark Hudson. As one of the only physicians certified in child abuse in the region, he is sought after for his expertise and unwavering care for his patients.

Dr. Hudson is thoughtful in his interactions with everyone in the office. He sees the little things that are important. The person in front of him has his undivided attention, meaning you cannot help but feel heard. He picks up on nonverbal cues and will circle back to staff to make sure they feel supported. His steadiness creates a calm working environment and all staff feel the clinic runs smoothly.”
