Pamela Gigi Chawla, MD

Gigi Chawla, MD, pediatrician and hospitalist, is the senior medical director for the primary care division at Children’s Minnesota and previously served as chief of staff. She is a regular contributor to Minnesota Parent and serves as the expert for WCCO-TV’s “Ask A Pediatrician.”

Laurel Edinburgh, APRN, CNP

Lauren Edinburgh, APRN, CNP, is a nurse practitioner at the Midwest Children’s Resource Center at Children’s Minnesota. In this role she developed and implemented the Runaway Intervention Program, which assesses and treats runaway, sexually exploited teens. She is also interested in researching effective interventions to decrease the long-term effects of sexual abuse.

Brad Feltis, MD, PhD

Brad Feltis, MD, is the surgical director of the Midwest Fetal Care Center. Dr. Feltis is one of the country’s leading pediatric surgeons specializing in pre-born anomalies and one of few in the nation to perform fetoscopy-surgery on fetuses inside the womb.

Stefan Friedrichsdorf, MD, is the medical director of the Pain Medicine, Palliative Care and Integrative Medicine Program at Children’s Minnesota, one of the largest and most comprehensive programs of its kind in the country. Dr. Friedrichsdorf works across specialties with both inpatient and outpatient children to control acute, chronic/complex and procedural pain.

Laura Gandrud, MD, is a pediatric endocrinologist at Children’s Minnesota. She also conducts research on insulin pump therapy, glucose sensors and childhood osteoporosis.

David Hirschman, MD, is the co-medical director of the Emergency Department and an emergency medicine physician at Children’s Minnesota. In this role he oversees the area’s only Level I pediatric trauma center in a pediatric hospital.

Mark Hudson, MD, is the medical director of Midwest Children’s Resource Center at Children’s Minnesota. In this role he works with children who have been abused or neglected to provide care and help them return to a productive, hopeful future.

Meysam Kebriaei, MD, is a pediatric neurosurgeon at Children’s Minnesota. Dr. Kebriaei has published several peer-reviewed articles and is involved in ongoing research projects related to neurosurgery.

Anupam Kharbanda, MD

Anupam Kharbanda, MD, is the director of research for Emergency Services and the associate fellowship director for Pediatric Medicine at Children’s Minnesota. Dr. Kharbanda has published numerous articles and textbook chapters regarding pediatric appendicitis and trauma. He’s also nationally-recognized for his work on clinical pathways for the management of children in the emergency department.

Jeanne Mrozek, MD, is a partner in MN Neonatal Physicians, the neonatology group providing newborn intensive care at Children’s Minnesota. She is also the medical director of several local level II nurseries and provides daily coverage at several local hospitals.

David Overman, MD, is the chief of the division of Cardiovascular Surgery, cardiac liaison for the ECMO Program and the director of perfusion services at Children’s Minnesota. He is a pediatric cardiovascular surgeon.

Joanna Perkins, MD

Joanna Perkins, MD, is a hematology-oncology physician at Children’s Minnesota and Medical director of Children’s Outreach Department. Her clinical interests include leukemia and lymphoma management and the late effects of childhood cancer therapy.

Patsy Stinchfield, MS, RN, CPNP, is an infectious disease nurse practitioner and director of Infection Prevention and Control and the Children’s Immunization Project at Children’s Minnesota. She is a widely-recognized infectious diseases specialist and expert on vaccinations and immunizations. She has served as a source for the Associated Press, The New York Times, USA Today and more.

Dr. Michael Troy

Michael Troy, LP, PhD

Michael Troy, LP, PhD, is a clinical physiologist and medical director of Behavioral Health Services at Children’s Minnesota. His clinical and academic interests include diagnostic classification issues in developmental psychopathology, models of therapeutic assessment and teaching child clinical psychology as part of hospital and community medical education programs.
