How care comes to you

Wondering whether Children’s Minnesota home care could be an option for your family? Home care services need to be ordered by a doctor so if your child is currently in the hospital, talk with their doctor. If your child is at home, talk with your primary doctor about your need for home care. You or the doctor may call our main home care number, at 612-813-6246, to find out whether you qualify* for home care services.

Someone from home care will then review your insurance to see if Children’s Minnesota home care services are covered. To the best of our ability, we’ll verify what’s covered and what you might have to pay out of pocket. We encourage you to speak with your insurance company, too, but we’ll do everything we can to facilitate this process for your family.

After your child is discharged from the hospital, home care will work with your family to schedule visits from one of our home care nurses. If you ever have any questions about your child’s home care needs, just call 612-813-6246. We are available 7 days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on-call for emergencies from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m.

*Note: We deliver home care services throughout the seven-county metropolitan area (Hennepin, Ramsey, Dakota, Anoka, Scott, Washington and Carver) within a 30-mile radius from Children’s – St. Paul and Children’s – Minneapolis. Patients need to live within that radius to be a candidate for home care. Speak with your doctor or our triage nurse to learn more.
