Join the Augsburg Men’s and Women’s hockey teams and the Physician Assistant Studies program for their Animals for Smiles event! This is a stuffed animal toss benefiting Children’s Minnesota in appreciation for hosting PA students during their clinical rotations. Animals will be given out to Children’s patients. The toss will take place during both home hockey games against Bethel University on November 10th and 11th at 7:00 pm. Stuffed animals will be tossed onto the ice following the first period. Music Therapy

It’s no secret that music can be uplifting and relaxing in any situation. A growing amount of evidence suggests that the power of music can also have significant benefits to patients and their families in clinical settings. Your child doesn’t need a musical background to benefit from music therapy. Children at any developmental age or developmental level can participate. Children’s Minnesota board-certified music therapists serve patients ranging from newborns to young adults at various levels of engagement and responsiveness (from sedated to active).

Child life specialists

Child life staff promote healthy methods of emotional expression, encouraging patients to channel their feelings through play, dialogue, arts, crafts, music and other forms of expression. Child life and music therapy professionals at Children’s Minnesota partner with the whole family, including siblings, to foster a positive and supportive care experience.

Child life zone

Kids come first at The Child Life Zone. Located on our Children’s Minnesota St. Paul campus, The Zone is a unique space where patients and their families play, learn, laugh and relax. Built through support from Garth Brooks’ Teammates for Kids Foundation, this state-of-the-art environment provides children and teens a place to connect with others and explore healing therapies while doing what they love.
