Children’s Minnesota CEO appointed to new statewide health equity task force

The task force was created to examine inequities in how people experience health care based on race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, age and disability. It identify strategies that ensure all Minnesotans receive care and coverage that is respectful and delivers optimal health outcomes.

Children’s Minnesota kid expert appointed to the Children’s Cabinet Advisory Council

The advisory council seeks to have representation from health care leaders like Yinka, who provide valuable perspective in their role serving children and families, especially those from diverse and underrepresented communities.

Community health: hearing vs. listening

One of our values at Children’s Minnesota is “Listen, really listen.” Listening to the kids and families we serve, listening to our colleagues. It builds trust and relationships. It helps us learn how we can best help kids be as healthy as possible. That’s the idea behind the Community Health Needs Assessment.

Children’s Minnesota joined Gov. Tim Walz, Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, the Minnesota Children’s Cabinet, and community advocates for the launch of a Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights – a call to action to the community and commitment by state government agencies to remove barriers and create opportunity for children to be outdoors. 

Children’s Minnesota launches Collective for Community Health and appoints Lauren Gilchrist as its senior director

The Collective will expand and deepen the organization’s existing community partnerships, working to co-create innovative solutions and leverage resources that improve the health of communities.

Community Connect helps families find critical resources and thrive

At Children’s Minnesota, we know that good health requires more than good health care. In fact, 80% of a child’s health is tied to where they live, learn and play. That’s why we have the Community Connect program. The program helps connect families in our Minneapolis and St. Paul Primary Care Clinics to existing community resources.
