Dr. Gigi Chawla, chief of general pediatrics at Children’s Minnesota, has been named medical director of Reach Out and Read Minnesota. The program partners with medical clinics to improve early literacy and education outcomes by providing a free, age-appropriate book at every well-child visit from six months to 5 years old.
Children's Minnesota recently received a generous donation of a Little Free Library "house" that has been installed in the Healing Garden on the Children’s Minneapolis campus. The Little Free Library will be filled with a diverse range of books including books written in multiple languages and select titles that will appeal to a range of ages and cultures.
We celebrate and promote the joy of reading through community events and many programs that bring books and reading to the kids we care for.
We are excited to be a part of The Loft's Wordplay to celebrate and promote the joy of reading. Wordplay aims to be the state’s biggest-ever celebration of readers, writers and great books.
