Congratulations to all Minnesota frontline health care workers for receiving the 2021 Melrose Twin Cities Principled Leadership Award. Caroline Njau, senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Children’s Minnesota, accepted the award on behalf of every frontline health care worker statewide. This recognition honors Minnesota’s health care heroes’ service and sacrifice throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Midwest Fetal Care Center (MWFCC), a collaboration between Children’s Minnesota and Allina Health, is participating in a large multicenter National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded study targeting improved surveillance and care for pregnant women with anti-SSA/Ro antibodies who are at risk for fetal heart block.

Children’s Minnesota has announced that Dr. David Schmeling will be stepping down as chief of surgery after serving in the role since 2004. The position will be passed to Dr. Tim Lander effective Jan. 22, 2022.
