Pediatric cardiac MRIs

A cardiac MRI is recommended for patients who require analysis of dynamic cardiac flows, wall motion, ventricular volume, and ventricular function. Children’s Minnesota offers access to pediatric-trained radiologists who work closely with cardiologists to perform the tests. Imaging experts and pediatric cardiologists, Dr. Angela Kelle and Dr. Charles Shepard, are also part of the team. Thanks to the expertise and training of Dr. Kelle, Dr. Shepard, and the other team members, tests can be performed quickly, reducing the need for children to remain still for prolonged periods and minimizing radiation exposure.
