3-D echocardiography

3-D echocardiography provides a real-time, three-dimensional reconstruction of a beating heart during surgeries or during testing as necessary. Pediatric cardiologists can view certain slices or the heart as a whole. Doppler data provide color-coded images of the flow of blood through the heart and help identify valvular, congenital, and other anomalies.

Children’s has the only certified pediatric echo program in the region. Children’s respiratory care practitioners and sonographers are solely dedicated to pediatrics and highly experienced in the unique cardiovascular problems of children.

Each year, the Children’s team provides more than 8,000 echocardiographic interpretations, including more than 200 fetal echocardiograms and more than 500 echocardiograms digitally transmitted from across the region.
