Play areas

Children’s Minnesota has creative play spaces such as the Great Clips™ Sibling Play Area and The Child Life Zone where patients and their siblings can play, be creative and interact with other kids.

Great Clips™ Sibling Play Area – Minneapolis

Location: Second floor near the Welcome Center
Phone: 612-813-7051
Open Monday – Saturday. Hours vary, please call ahead

The Sibling Play Area is a creative space especially designed for the brothers and sisters of patients. Staff works closely with child life specialists, the Family Resource Center, and volunteers to create a supportive environment where children feel welcome to play.  We have a wide selection of toys, games, music, books and crafts for all ages. Children may be signed in with our child life staff for short-term supervised care.

Patients and other family members are also welcome in the Sibling Play Area to play as a family, create artwork, or read together in the Children’s Library located within the same space.

In addition to the large indoor play space, the Sibling Play Area offers an attached outdoor play area with a climbing structure and a soft surface where children can engage in more active play.
