Detective work is part of our job

Most families come to the developmental pediatrics program at Children’s Minnesota after being referred by their child’s primary physician for direction about a variety of issues that can affect children. We are the specialists who are trained to treat these conditions that can greatly impact a child’s life. Like pediatric detectives, we do everything we can to unravel clues about a child’s developmental, behavioral or learning challenges and help find solutions.

Nobody knows your child better than you do

We begin by talking with families, asking the right questions and offering support as needed. You are the expert when it comes to your child, so we listen to you and trust your gut. Together we’ll get down to business. We develop a solid game plan that families can follow.

Many health conditions can affect a child’s development, including:

  • Intellectual disability
