Children’s Minnesota Chief Nursing Officer accepts inaugural Melrose Twin Cities Principled Leadership Award on behalf of Minnesota frontline health care heroes

Congratulations to all Minnesota frontline health care workers for receiving the 2021 Melrose Twin Cities Principled Leadership Award. Caroline Njau, senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Children’s Minnesota, accepted the award on behalf of every frontline health care worker statewide. This recognition honors Minnesota’s health care heroes’ service and sacrifice throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Medical Education Nurse Teaching Award recognizes a nurse on each campus for their work to enhance the education of Children’s Minnesota’s medical resident and medical student teams.

Dr. Michael Richards receives 2021 St. Baldrick’s Foundation Infrastructure Grant

Congratulations to Dr. Michael Richards for being awarded a $50,000 infrastructure grant from the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants. The grant will support the Cancer and Blood Disorders program at Children’s Minnesota in offering clinical trials for state-of-the-art pediatric cancer therapies.

Community Connect recognized by The Joint Commission and Kaiser Permanente

We are pleased to announce that the Community Connect program at Children’s Minnesota has been selected as a Top Finalist for the inaugural Bernard J. Tyson National Award for Excellence in Pursuit of Healthcare Equity by The Joint Commission and Kaiser Permanente.
