Allied, nursing and graduate education

Allied, nursing and graduate education overview

The Center for Professional Development and Practice at Children’s Minnesota provides educational and clinical training to allied, pre-licensure nursing and graduate students. To be approved for an educational experience a contractual agreement must be in place between the educational institution and Children’s.

Onboarding process

Students participating in a clinical experience at Children’s will be invited via an email to begin the enrollment process. (If the academic partner needs access to the site, please email [email protected] with the following information: faculty name, email address, telephone number and academic program name.)

Faculty instructions

Before students begin, the school is responsible for entering student information and uploading a current DHS background study. The background study needs to be valid through the entire student clinical experience.

Students need to complete the enrollment steps below at least two weeks prior to the experience. Failure to comply with this request will result in delay and or cancellation of your experience. To enroll, you will need to:

Once Children’s approves your enrollment, you will receive a receipt via email. Please print this receipt and bring it on your first day at Children’s.

Compliance training

You will be receiving a separate email with instructions on how to complete your compliance training. EMR access via Cerner is granted the following business day after the compliance training has been completed.
