Interpreter services

Children’s Minnesota offers free interpreter services for many languages to support patients and families. Please contact us at 612-813-7600 to request an interpreter.

Our services

Interpreter services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for patient families at Children’s Minnesota. Our services include:

  • A wide range of spoken languages and American Sign Language (ASL).
    • On-staff interpreters for Hmong, Karen, Somali and Spanish.
    • Access to interpreters for other languages and professional ASL available upon request.
  • Facilitating effective communication in health care across linguistic and cultural differences
  • Consultation to the health care team and patient families on culturally specific values, beliefs, health practices and communication styles
  • Sign language and video interpreters, TTYs (teletypwriters) and other services are available to deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. — Please ask us for assistance or contact the deaf and hard of hearing communications coordinator at 612-813-5826 (voice/TTY)
