Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Skills Check
This (45) minute ACLS skills check meets the AHA requirement for the student to acquire their ACLS Course Completion. Prior successful completion of the AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) on-line simulation is required prior to attending the ACLS skills check.

Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) – Provider
The Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course is designed to provide core-level pediatric knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of emergency nursing care to the pediatric patient. The course content is presented through lectures and psychomotor skill stations. Course content reviews pertinent information for the emergency room nurse in the areas of respiratory assessment, shock, pediatric triage, resuscitation, trauma, and child maltreatment.

Neonatal Resuscitation Program for Providers
Children’s Neonatal Resuscitation Program is intended for health professionals involved in any aspect of neonatal resuscitation. Preferred audience for this course must have one of the following credentials: MD, RN, RT, CNM, NNP, RT, Paramedic/EMT, or PA. During the course, teams will participate in team simulation training using a computerized manikin, intended to promote evidence based neonatal resuscitation competency, teamwork, and communication. Online testing prior to attending this course is utilized to reduce the time spent in the classroom so that our focus can be on advancing neonatal resuscitation teamwork and communication.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Skills Check
This (4) hour PALS skills check meets the AHA requirement for the student to acquire their PALS Course Completion. Prior successful completion of the AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) on-line simulation is required prior to attending the PALS skills check.

Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS)
PEARS, developed by the American Heart Association (AHA), is for health care providers who infrequently see critically ill children or any health care provider who might encounter pediatric patients. PEARS focuses on prevention, specifically the assessment, recognition and stabilization of pediatric patients at risk of severe cardiopulmonary distress.

S.T.A.B.L.E. Program
The S.T.A.B.L.E. program is the first neonatal program to focus exclusively on the post-resuscitation/pre-transport stabilization care for sick newborns. S.T.A.B.L.E. stands for the six assessment and care modules in the program: Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, and Emotional support.
STABLE is a one-day course for neonatal nurses that provides general guidelines for the assessment and stabilization of sick infants in the post resuscitation/pre-transport period.
Course objectives:
- Identify neonatal risk factors, symptoms and treatment for hypoglycemia.
- State the detrimental effects of hypothermia.
- Describe basic evaluation of neonatal respiratory distress.
- Identify types and signs of shock in sepsis.
- Describe the clinical signs of sepsis.
- Describe ways hospital caregivers can support parents of sick newborns.
Children’s Minnesota is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This course is worth 7.5 continuing nursing education hours.

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) is a 2 day course designed to provide core-level trauma knowledge and psychomotor skills associated with the delivery of emergency nursing care to the trauma patient. The course content is presented through lectures and psychomotor skill stations. TNCC empowers nurses with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and hands-on training to provide expert care for trauma patients. It enhances rapid identification of life-threatening injuries, teaches a comprehensive patient assessment, and provides enhanced intervention for better patient outcomes. ENA developed The Trauma Nursing Core Course to establish a standardized body of trauma nursing knowledge and to improve the care of all trauma patients.

Children’s Simulation Center
Children’s offers the first mobile simulation center in the United States to focus solely on pediatric and neonatal emergency care. A motor coach outfitted with simulation equipment and staffed with Children’s experts, travels throughout the Midwest to train staff from hospitals in the best practices when responding to pediatric or neonatal medical emergencies.
