New study finds that probiotics don’t help kids with stomach bugs

Children’s Minnesota president and CEO Dr. Marc Gorelick co-led a study that found probiotics are not effective at reducing the symptoms of stomach bugs in children. While doctors were surprised and disappointed that probiotics are not as helpful as previously thought, Dr. Gorelick told the Star Tribune, “it is gratifying to at least have a definitive answer so people don’t waste their time, attention and resources.” Read the full story: Probiotics for kids’ stomach bugs?
