Gun violence is the leading cause of death for children in America. It is reshaping what childhood looks like in Minnesota and across the country.
The only way to prevent gun violence is by working together. So, I’m grateful that I was recently part of a panel discussion with two gun violence prevention leaders: Jalila Abdul Brown, executive director of Change Starts With Community and Maggiy Emery, executive director of Protect Minnesota.
We all have a role in preventing gun violence. And as I mention in the book I recently wrote about kids and the gun crisis, it is vital that we define gun violence as a public health issue. Framing it this way puts us on a path to solutions, and away from divisive partisan debate.
To learn more about gun violence in Minnesota, what we’re doing to prevent it, and how you can get involved, I invite you to watch this recording of our discussion.
