PAUL (August 6, 2024) — Dr. Marc Gorelick, president and CEO of Children’s Minnesota, one of the largest freestanding pediatric healthcare systems in the U.S., is proud to announce the release of his new book, “Saving Our Kids: An ER Doc’s Common-Sense Solution to the Gun Crisis.” The book is now available for purchase on Amazon.
Drawing from his extensive experience as a pediatric emergency medicine physician, Dr. Gorelick provides a compelling and pragmatic approach to addressing one of the most pressing issues facing America today. Dr. Gorelick is a passionate advocate for children’s health and recently spoke at a White House convening on gun violence prevention.
With solutions deeply rooted in practicality, presenting gun violence as a public health issue rather than a partisan one, “Saving Our Kids” is designed to bridge the divide between various viewpoints, galvanizing communities, policymakers and individuals in efforts to take actionable steps to protect children from the gun violence epidemic.
“Gun violence is now the leading cause of death for youth in the country, surpassing childhood cancer, drowning and poisoning combined. As a pediatric emergency physician, I have unfortunately seen firsthand the devastating impact of gun violence on our children and communities,” said Dr. Gorelick. “This book is not just a call to action; it is a blueprint for change. I don’t think we have a motivation problem. For many people, I think it’s a “where do we go from here” problem. A “this issue is so stubborn and politically charged, what could I possibly do to change things” problem.
