Edema is swelling that happens when too much fluid builds up in the tissues of the body. (Not the tissues you blow your nose in! We mean the stuff your body's made up of.)
This can happen anywhere, especially the hands, arms, feet, legs, or ankles. Lots of things can cause edema, like insect stings, sunburn, and some diseases.
