Forearm crutches are devices that give support to the forearms to help a person stand and walk.
Children ages 8 and older who can walk by themselves but have trouble with balance may need to use forearm crutches. Kids who tire easily may find that forearm crutches can help them save their energy when they're out and about.
Forearm crutches are usually covered by insurance, but they might limit the number they'll cover. Ask your child's doctor for more information.
