Children’s Minnesota Chief Operating Officer to step down

After more than two decades with the health system, Jennifer Olson will leave for personal reasons.

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL (August 2, 2023) – It is with mixed emotions that we announce Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Jennifer Olson, is leaving Children’s Minnesota, effective Sept. 2. Olson has decided to step down from her position for personal reasons after an incredible 22-year tenure with our organization.

During Olson’s time at Children’s Minnesota, she spearheaded critical initiatives – like The Mother Baby Center – that expanded service offerings and strengthened partnerships. She was instrumental in driving growth and improvement across major clinical services. She also played an integral role in fostering a collaborative and patient-centered culture within the organization, ensuring the highest quality of care for the families and children we serve.

Of her move, Olson shared, “I am making this decision to leave without regret, and with a heart full of gratitude for all that I’ve learned and loved in my time with the organization.”

Children’s Minnesota President and CEO, Dr. Marc Gorelick, said of her departure, “Jennifer has been a true leader, exemplifying dedication, expertise and compassion in everything she has done. Her passion for nurturing talent and mentoring has inspired everyone around her to strive for greatness, creating a lasting legacy within our organization that will endure for years to come.”
