Children’s Minnesota executive leaders named among Minnesota Physician’s 100 Most Influential Health Care Leaders

Congratulations to Dr. Marc Gorelick, Children’s Minnesota president and CEO, and Dr. Emily Chapman, chief medical officer and senior vice president of medical affairs, on being named two of Minnesota Physician’s 100 Most Influential Health Care Leaders.

Minnesota Physician’s list is a special feature that recognizes leaders that help make health care in Minnesota a global model of excellence. Nominees are selected by the publication’s readers, who nominate colleagues for their outstanding leadership.

The feature includes insights from each leader, including highlighting an influential person in their career and what leadership means to them.

“Good leadership starts with curiosity — an acknowledgment that there is so much yet to discover,” Dr. Chapman shared in the publication. “Learning will never come from examining your own perspective but instead from a diversity of perspectives. Inquiry will get you farther than knowledge and bringing humility will get you farther than bringing certainly.”

Dr. Gorelick adds: “One of the most important elements of leadership is authenticity. An authentic leader is one who is relatable and can inspire people to their best. Conversely, people can sense when you don’t mean what you say, and it undermines the trust that is necessary to leadership. Another is humility: a good leader works to learn and grow every single day.”
