Children’s Minnesota leader appointed to Governor’s Workforce Development Board

Children’s Minnesota is pleased to announce that Crystle Illa, director of talent acquisition, has been appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board, a group that helps guide workforce efforts across Minnesota.

The board advises the Governor on workforce needs across the state and helps shape Minnesota’s overall workforce strategy. It also supports the state’s workforce plan, helps align workforce programs, and works to remove barriers that can make it harder for people to access jobs and career pathways.

The board also provides guidance on performance accountability, system improvement and promising practices, while supporting local boards and regional efforts across the state.

“I’m honored to serve on the Governor’s Workforce Development Board and support work that creates more opportunities for people across Minnesota,” Crystle said. “I’m looking forward to working with leaders across the state to help strengthen our workforce system.”

The Governor’s Workforce Development Board assists the Governor in developing, implementing, and modifying the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Combined State Plan, a strategic four-year blueprint that aligns the state’s education, training and economic development systems to better serve workers and employees, among other priorities.

At Children’s Minnesota, Crystle leads the team that is responsible for hiring employees. Her 3-year appointment to the Governor’s board reflects her leadership and Children’s Minnesota’s commitment to building a strong workforce that supports children and families.
