Children’s Minnesota marketing and communications VP among 2024 Women in Business honorees

Hillery Shay, vice president of marketing and communications at Children’s Minnesota, has been recognized as one of Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 2024 Women in Business honorees. Hillery is among a prestigious group of 50 women recognized for their professional achievements and contributions to the Twin Cities community.

In three years at Children’s Minnesota, Hillery has made many contributions to enhance the pediatric health system’s connection to the community it serves. Most visibly, she created the concept for The Kid Experts® tagline which has become a cornerstone of the organization’s marketing and communications campaigns.

Hillery is a champion for inclusive marketing and advocating for children’s health. She’s dedicated budget and resources to building credibility with multicultural media outlets and influencers in the Twin Cities including La Raza radio, Sahan Journal, Sheletta Brundidge and Georgia Fort. She’s also joined together with the public policy team to amplify Children’s Minnesota advocacy efforts at the state capitol, including gender affirming care, the CROWN Act, gun violence and free school meals.

Additionally, Hillery has started a mentoring group for female people leaders of color at Children’s Minnesota to create a space to learn and grow from the experience of executives that look like them.
