Children’s Minnesota named a top employer for workforce diversity by Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal

Children’s Minnesota is thrilled to announce the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal selected the pediatric health care system for its 2023 Diversity in Workforces list. Each of the 24 medium-sized, Minnesota-based companies recognized were ranked based on the percentage of total employees who are people of color, according to the journal. Children’s Minnesota ranked 12th with more than 25% of the approximately 5,500 employees being people of color.

Current recruiting efforts are underway to help ensure even more of The Kid Experts® at Children’s Minnesota reflect our diverse patient population. From 2018-2022, our staff diversity has increased from 19% to 25%. But we are not stopping there. By 2024, we are hoping to hit 34% in staff diversity with our new recruiting efforts.

This year’s Diversity in Workforces list also showcased how 30% of the Executive Leadership Team at Children’s Minnesota, and 25% of the organization’s Hospital Board of Directors, are people of color.
