Children’s Minnesota, Second Harvest Heartland and Hunger Solutions worked with lawmakers to introduce Breakfast after the Bell legislation, which will increase access to nutritious school breakfasts by providing schools with the support they need to establish or expand school breakfast programs. The Breakfast After the Bell model offers breakfast to students after the school day has officially started. Research shows that when kids consistently eat a healthy breakfast their test scores, attendance and graduation rates improve.
