Dr. Carrie Borchardt, medical director for psychiatric services at Children’s Minnesota, spoke with the Star Tribune about a new study that shows an increase in ADHD diagnoses. Dr. Borchardt attributed the rise to a variety of factors, including the surge of demands placed on children today and an increased recognition of the disorder. Dr. Borchardt stated that changing social factors, including academic stress and increased screen time, may reveal milder cases of ADHD in children who may have previously gone undiagnosed.
