Dr. Kade Goepferd honored in Chief’s inaugural The New Era of Leadership Awards

The award recognizes and celebrates the women and nonbinary leaders who are redefining business as usual.

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL (May 15, 2024) — Children’s Minnesota is proud to announce that Dr. Kade Goepferd, chief education officer and medical director of Children’s Minnesota’s Gender Health program, has been recognized as one of 50 exceptional executive women and nonbinary people shaping the future of business with resilience by Chief’s inaugural The New Era of Leadership Awards. Chief is the largest network of senior executive women, welcoming leaders who identify as women, transgender, nonbinary and gender nonconforming.

Dr. Kade Goepferd

Dr. Goepferd was selected by an exemplary panel of judges with extensive experience leading some of the world’s most renowned organizations, including Former PepsiCo Chairman and CEO, Indra Nooyi, Bumble CEO, Lidiane Jones, General Catalyst Chairman and Managing Director, Ken Chenault, Kickstarter CEO, Everette Taylor, and Former IBM Chairman and CEO, Ginni Rometty. The judges evaluated each nomination based on key factors, including relevance, impact, innovation and adaptability. The result is a diverse group of 50 executive women and nonbinary people, and 25 companies defining this new era of leadership.

In its recently released “The New Era of Leadership report,” Chief surveyed 600 U.S. C-suite executives about the attributes that define new-era leadership today. Based on these findings, Chief’s The New Era of Leadership Awards recognized leaders and companies that embody one or more of these characteristics:

  • Innovative: They are here to disrupt. They take risks to create positive change, by leveraging new technology, launching a new product, or revitalizing legacy brands.
  • Empathetic: They put their people first, because they know that people power their companies. From embracing new ways of working, to committing to DEI, they go beyond standard practices to ensure individuals succeed and feel valued.
  • Creative: They spark cultural moments. They’re operating at the intersection of vision and storytelling, launching thought-provoking and industry-leading campaigns, and forging creative partnerships.
  • Purposeful: They’re driven by purpose. They use their influence for good, centering their company around a mission that drives positive change.
  • Resilient: They adapt easily. Whether facing a changing industry, a company pivot, or a full-on crisis, they aren’t afraid of change and have the guts and smarts to navigate it.
