Dr. Michael Richards receives 2021 St. Baldrick’s Foundation Infrastructure Grant

Dr. Michael Richards headshotCongratulations to Dr. Michael Richards for being awarded a $50,000 infrastructure grant from the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, the largest non-government funder of childhood cancer research grants. The grant will support the Cancer and Blood Disorders program at Children’s Minnesota in offering clinical trials for state-of-the-art pediatric cancer therapies.

“As the largest pediatric cancer and blood disorders program in the upper Midwest, Children’s Minnesota’s research initiatives make a significant impact in the lives of kids in our region,” said Dr. Richards, lead investigator for pediatric oncology at Children’s Minnesota. “This grant will support our work and allow us to continue to offer the most cutting-edge therapies for kids diagnosed with cancer.”

This is the second grant Dr. Richards has received from the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Children’s Minnesota is one of 24 health care institutions in the United States awarded the foundation’s grant in 2021.
