Dr. Sheldon Berkowitz discusses reducing gun violence

Dr. Sheldon Berkowitz, physician and medical director for case management, utilization management and clinical documentation improvement, presented a variety of ways that physicians and communities can reduce gun violence in a piece he authored for Minnesota Physician. Dr. Berkowitz explained how crucial it is to ask every patient’s family about guns in the house to ensure children are safe at home. He also presented four additional ways to reduce gun violence: participate in marches and rallies, write to local newspapers, speak with legislators, and provide financial contributions to organizations that work to reduce gun violence.
