Nina Noe, hospital nursing supervisor lead, has been working at Children’s Minnesota for 18 years now. She is sharing all her favorite things about working at Children’s Minnesota below.
What’s your position and how long have you been at Children’s Minnesota?
“I have been working at Children’s Minnesota for 18 years now with two of those years in my current role as a hospital nursing supervisor lead.”
Tell us why you like your job and position.
“I really enjoy the challenge of managing the flow of patients and staff resources through our hospital systems. Seeing the big picture and using that knowledge to coordinate the movement of our patients to the right place at the right time to have access to the resources they need can involve a lot of moving pieces. I am sort of like an air traffic controller and if our patient families don’t even know my job exists, it was a smoother flight during their stay.
“I also really love being able to support the front-line staff here at Children’s Minnesota to help them troubleshoot barriers they may encounter and help them do what they are passionate about doing — taking care of our patients and families.”
What do you like about working in this field/department?
“In my role, I get to work cross department and collaborate with many unique and gifted people who are willing to share their expertise to impact the care of our children and families here at Children’s Minnesota. My colleagues are so passionate about their work and engaged in working toward solutions to improve our system flow. I am always excited for the process improvement work I get to participate in, helping us all do our jobs more efficiently and consistently through innovative and evidence-based approaches.”
Why do you like working at Children’s Minnesota?
“When I became a nurse, I only wanted to work at Children’s Minnesota — how lucky for me that this is where I get to do my work. The people I have learned from and worked alongside here at Children’s Minnesota bring comfort to our families during their stay with us. They do this through knowledge, empathy, skill, inter-disciplinary collaboration and play. Our teams make a difference every day in big and small ways, and I am so grateful for the privilege of being part of this team.”
