The number of children who have been a victim of gun violence continues to rise. Let’s be clear: no child deserves to be a victim of gun violence, especially in a school environment, and it’s past time we do something about it.
I joined the CEO Council on Gun Violence Prevention & Safety, along with several advocates in this space. We’re on a mission to prevent gun violence, not only for the children affected but also to keep our emergency department staff away from the trauma I’ve endured as a pediatric emergency physician.

Recently, I was a guest on Becker’s Healthcare Podcast to discuss the importance of this topic and share insights as someone who has witnessed the gun violence epidemic’s impact on our children firsthand. Listen here.
