In the news: Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal sit down on gun violence and what we can do

Children shouldn’t have to go to school thinking about what item in their classroom would be the most effective way to block the door. They shouldn’t have to wonder what object is solid enough to break a window or if they would break any bones jumping from a two-story window. Children are being robbed of their education, peace of mind, and childhood.

We’ve seen recently, during the COVID-19 pandemic, how our country can contain a public health threat and save millions of lives. This is the way forward, as I lay out in my book: using lessons we all learned during the pandemic, addressing the gun crisis as a public health crisis, because that’s exactly what it is for our children. It is their #1 health threat.

I sat down with the Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal to discuss my perspective on the gun crisis in America and what we can and should do about it. Read the full interview here.
