Virtual Walk for Amazing raises more than $150,000 for Children’s Minnesota

Fundraiser challenged participants to do daily activities and raise much-needed funds for patients and their families

MINNEAPOLIS (May 18, 2021) – Children’s Minnesota is proud to congratulate participants who reached their health goals during Virtual Walk for Amazing. Over 600 people gathered virtually with family and friends to get active during the last two weeks. Along the way, participants raised more than $150,000 to ensure Children’s Minnesota patients and families have access to the best physicians, treatments and wrap-around services, regardless of their ability to pay.

“We’re so grateful to everyone who gathered with friends and family to walk, bike, play and did at least one healthy activity each day to help make the journey better for every family who comes to us for care,” said Jennifer Soderholm, chief development officer and president of the Children’s Minnesota Foundation. “The type of specialized comfort and care we’re able to provide to our patients is only possible thanks to the generosity of our community.”

From May 3-14, Virtual Walk for Amazing participants were challenged to set a goal of completing at least one healthy activity each day. Leading up to the event, individuals could recruit family and friends to join their team and fundraise for Children’s Minnesota. Participants shared their activities, photos and connected with other teams on a Virtual Walk for Amazing Facebook group.
