A power wheelchair is a supportive chair on wheels. Kids who use a power wheelchair can move around by themselves.
A power wheelchair can help kids ages 5 and older who can't walk but have some control of their upper body. They also need to be able to purposely move their hands or head, follow directions, and follow safety instructions.
Sometimes power wheelchairs are covered by insurance. Ask your child's doctor for more information.
