Job shadowing opportunities at Children’s

Children’s Minnesota offers several programs for individuals (non-employees) interested in exploring healthcare fields.

Observer Program

The Observer Program provides individual opportunities to observe Children’s staff, learn more about their field, and explore possible careers. This experience is entirely hands-off and is supervised by a professional.

Observer eligibility requirements

To be eligible to observe, you need to:

  • Be a minimum of 16 years old
  • Submit documentation of immunization records: vaccines required include chickenpox/varicella, MMR, Tdap, negative Mantoux (tuberculosis) within the past 12 months, flu (if during flu season)

Email/scan immunization records to: [email protected]

Positions are limited and based on provider availability. See available departments  and learn more about the application process.

Healthcare Career Information Seminars

These seminars provide interactive learning opportunities designed to help individuals learn about specific healthcare fields — from educational requirements to day-to-day activities. Seminars are presented in a variety of formats and offer the opportunity to ask questions of a professional in a specific field. Seminars are open to anyone interested in pursuing a healthcare career — from students to adults exploring a second career. *Immunization records are not required to attend an information session.
