Children’s Minnesota is intensely focused on offering advanced and individualized care for newly diagnosed children, teens and young adults with cancer and blood disorders. Our healthcare providers are also leaders in delivering innovative treatment for rare, relapsed and recurrent cancers. We’ve been a trusted clinical resource for over 30 years.

Children’s Minnesota provides 24/7 access to hematologists and oncologists. Our team of 200 dedicated professionals include physicians, advanced practice nurses, nurses, case managers, rehabilitation therapists, interpreters, dieticians and more. They all understand the unique care needs of children and their families facing cancer and blood disorders.

In addition to our specialized staff’s combined expertise, proximity to care for cancer and blood disorder patients is always top-of-mind at Children’s Minnesota. That’s why we have several locations conveniently placed throughout the region:

  • An inpatient care facility at our Minneapolis hospital campus.

Programs and resources

Children’s Minnesota cares for more than half of the children diagnosed with cancer or a blood disorder in Minnesota, and 70 percent of those diagnosed in the Twin Cities metro area. Our robust specialty programs in cancer and blood disorders include:

  • The largest pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumor program in Minnesota.
  • One of the largest childhood leukemia & lymphoma programs in the Upper Midwest — the largest in Minnesota.
  • Children’s C.H. Robinson Infusion Center — the only pediatric cancer and blood disorders infusion center in Minnesota.
  • A nationally-recognized Hemoglobinopathy and Sickle Cell Program.
    • This program treats the majority of children and teens in Minnesota with abnormal hemoglobins and anemias.
  • Treatment programs, research initiatives and environments developed specifically for adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer patients that you cannot find anywhere else in the region.
  • A one of a kind women and teen bleeding disorders program located in Minnesota that is part of Children’s Center for Bleeding and Clotting Disorders.
    • Care is provided by a hematologist/oncologist and two certified pediatric nurse practitioners with special experience in ensuring accurate test results during diagnosis and treating common bleeding disorders in women.
