Children’s Minnesota nurse honored for dedication to diversity and advocacy work in 2019 March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards

Congratulations to Jenne Hongosh, a Children’s Minnesota home care nurse, who was honored with a March of Dimes Nurse of the Year award in the diversity and advocacy category! Jenne stood out among colleagues for her dedication to personalizing care for her patients, in part by taking the time to learn about their unique backgrounds and experiences. Her commitment has led her to learn the basics of several languages, and she has also built strong working relationships with interpreters in an effort to better serve Children’s Minnesota diverse population of patients and families.

The Nurse of the Year awards are a way to say thank you and honor selflessness, dedication and passion for the profession of nursing. From neonatal and pediatric care, to rural health and advanced practice, these awards recognize the contribution that registered nurses are making in Minnesota and help fund the mission of the March of Dimes to improve the health of babies.

Seventeen other Children’s Minnesota nurses were honored as finalists during the event ceremony on Oct. 25, 2019. Among these finalists were mother-daughter duo Kathy Misk and Mariah Carano, who both share a passion for the field of nursing.

Thank you to all Children’s Minnesota nurses who continuously prove that amazing really does happen here!
