Dr. Andrea Lampland named Top Doctor in Mpls.St.Paul Magazine

Children’s Minnesota is excited to congratulate our very own Dr. Andrea Lampland, MD, neonatologist, for her recognition from Mpls.St.Paul Magazine as a 2019 Top Doctor in the Twin Cities.

Dr. Lampland is part of the neonatal program at Children’s—the largest high-risk neonatal care program in the Upper Midwest. She is the medical director of all level II nurseries covered by Children’s, associate medical director of neonatal transport operations, lead neonatologist with the Midwest Fetal Care Center clinical team, and site liaison for the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship at Children’s Minnesota St. Paul. She is also the director of Children’s translational research lab and neonatal research department.

“I have the best job. I go to work every day and love what I do,” she told Mpls.St.Paul Magazine. “I love treating little, tiny babies, and I love talking to their parents and helping them through this crazy, tumultuous time.”

Dr. Lampland is making serious strides in the care for babies. She works to help increase not only the survival rate for premature babies but also helps those babies live without any serious injuries or handicaps.

Children’s took part in the original trials for treating babies with hypothermia, which is now a standard procedure around the world and a procedure Dr. Lampland uses often. “We were not only part of the groundwork for it, but now we can incorporate it into our day-to-day care of these babies,” Dr. Lampland also said in the article.

Congratulations, Dr. Lampland. We are proud to have you on our team.

The Children’s Minnesota neonatal program was well represented on this year’s list. In addition to Dr. Lampland, neonatologists Mark Bergeron, MD, MPH, and Thomas George, MD, FAAP, were also named Top Doctors. Congratulations to all of our Top Doctors at Children’s, who are a remarkable example of the great care we provide to children every day!
