Work Here Wednesday: Join our safety and security team

At Children’s Minnesota, nothing is more important than the safety of our patients, their families and our staff. This is why we are so proud to have many amazing employees on our safety and security team, including Toy Vixayvong, a law enforcement liaison officer.

In his tenure as a law enforcement liaison officer and a former city of St. Paul school resource officer, Toy has seen his fair share of stressful and intense situations. But Toy approaches these situations calmly and confidently.

In his daily work as a security officer at Children’s Minnesota, Toy ensures the safety of our patients, families, employees and facilities. During a recent stressful situation, Toy’s relied on his police training and signature calm demeanor to quickly and proactively ensure the safety of all around.

Toy, and the rest of the police officers we see on Children’s Minneapolis and St. Paul campuses are Children’s employees, but also serve as protectors in the communities our patients, families and employees live in. Officers also serve their communities in roles including school resource officers, K-9 handlers, homicide detectives, human trafficking investigators, property crimes investigators, crisis negotiators, crime prevention officers, business technology administrators, patrol officers, community engagement and response team members, and many more unique roles within their own police departments. We are thankful for their service in our communities and within our facilities.
