What Are Migraines?

Migraines

Say: MY-granes

A migraine is a really bad kind of headache. The pain is often throbbing and can happen on just one or both sides of the head. People with migraines may feel dizzy or sick to their stomachs. During the headache, some are sensitive to light, noise, or smells, and want to sleep. When they wake up, they usually feel better.

Most migraines last from 30 minutes to 6 hours but some can last a day or two. Medicines can help migraines get better.
