Sibling Play area

Sibling Play Area

When your child is in the hospital, it affects the whole family. Our Sibling Play Area is a welcoming and creative space specially designed for patients and their families. Our staff works closely with child life specialists, the Family Resource Center, and volunteers to create a supportive environment where children feel welcome to play. We have a wide selection of toys, games, music, books and crafts for all ages.

The Sibling Play Area also offers an attached outdoor play area with a climbing structure and a soft surface where children can engage in more active play.

Important visitor guidelines

To ensure the health and safety of all our patients and families, we ask:

  • Visitors must be without a cold, flu, or other illness symptoms.
  • For entry, all adults and children must have a hospital ID badge from the Welcome Center and pass a wellness screening.

Who can use the Sibling Play Area?

The Sibling Play Area is open to:

  • Children’s Minnesota patients on standard precaution, their families, and other visitors who have passed a wellness screening.
    • Includes inpatient and approved outpatient clinics.
  • Siblings and other children visitors of patients who are not on standard precaution can use the play area before visiting a patient in their room.

Please note: To protect our most vulnerable patients, visitors of patients on enteric or airborne precautions are unable to use the play area at this time. We appreciate your understanding.
